Bea Hawthorn’s goal broke a 1-1 tie to give CJ the edge in a 2-1 win versus Northwestern in Wednesday girls soccer.
Allie Bardine scored first to put CJ on the board but Faith Gundolf netted the equalizer for Northwestern.
That set up Hawthorn for the game-winning goal, assisted by Peyton Burrows.
CJ improved to 3-0 with the win; Northwestern fell to 2-3.
Franklin 3, West Carrollton 0: Franklin prevailed in a rain-shortened match.
Middletown 4, Valley View 1: Middletown’s Arianna Layne bested Lilly Holbrook by scores of 6-3, 4-6 and 6-2 in first singles.
Monroe 4, Carlisle 0: Julia Peterson, Renee Lyons and Kaytlyn Etler each had a singles win for Monroe.
Preble Shawnee 5, Carroll 0: Allison Zornes, Alivia Reek and Michelle Bulach swept the singles matches for Preble.
Tecumseh 5, Xenia 0: Ashley Fite, Emilee Morris and Shelby Stacy each grabbed singles victories to pace Tecumseh.
Tippecanoe 3, Bellbrook 2: Mira Patel picked up a singles win and Tippecanoe swept the doubles matches for the win.
Bellbrook 172, Milton-Union 179: Zach Crampton scored a 40 and Hunter Turner added a 41 for Bellbrook. Justin Brawn earned medalist honors with a 39 for MU.
Fairbanks 168, Ben Logan 186: Justin Brackenbridge was the medalist for Fairbanks with a 40. Garrett Allen shot a 43 for Ben Logan.
Greeneview 179, Mechanicsburg 206: Mason Witt carded a 40 and Wade Wilson tacked on a 45 for Greeneview. Jack Shoemaker led ‘Burg with 42.
Twin Valley South 231, Franklin-Monroe 233: Willie Bowman led the field for TVS with a 47. Jacob Aslinger shot a 55 for FM.
Centerville 168, Alter 178: Centerville’s Rachel Krause and Kate Dickerson tied for the low score with 41.
Northmont 203, Miamisburg 204: Grace Anspach had the low score of the match for Miamisburg but Northmont won on a fifth-score tiebreak.
Troy 195, Greenville 203: Paige Stuchell’s 46 helped give Troy the edge. Jada Garland led the field with a 44 for Greenville.
