HS Roundup 9/9: Northridge claims first victory of the year in tennis

Girls Tennis

Northridge 3, Xenia 2: This was Northridge’s first win of the season. With the school and area still struggling after the Memorial Day tornados, the program has only four players and therefore has to forfeit two matches a night. Despite those odds, the Polar Bears won. Fifine Marshall and Charlie Fuduloff won singles matches; Destiny Glenn and Rachael Carlson won a doubles match. A singles and doubles match ended in a forfeit.

Bellbrook 3, Miamisburg 2: Miamisburg was paced in a close-fought match by Mary-Kate Bussert, who won a singles match, and the doubles team of Eden Hill and Adrienne Bussert, who combined to won their match.

Tecumseh 5, Urbana 0: Tecumseh claimed singles victories from Ady Beel, Erica Kelly and Kayla Wright. In doubles action, Bush/Walrath and Shampton/Miller won for Tecumseh.

Boys Golf

Anna 157, Troy Christian 223: Bryce Havenar shot 37, Bryce Cobb 38, Spencer McClay 41 and Cole Maurer 41.

Benjamin Logan 167, Northwestern 200: For Benjamin Logan, Ethan Ricketts led the way with a 39 followed by Jacob Mitchell with a 42. Trey Allen and Bryce Loomis both added 43’s. Rounding out the scoring was Alex Naragon and Aiden Elsass with 52’s.

Botkins 168, Russia 173: Botkins was led in victory by Jameson Meyer’s 43, Issac Cisco’s 42, Alex Bajwa’s 43, Jaydon Wendel’s 51, Jack Dietz’ 40 and Parker Geis’ 45.

Coldwater 171, Marion Local 201: Cavaliers shined in MAC league play Monday, led by Carson Muhlenkamp’s 36, Nathan Kaiser’s 43, Collin Muhlenkamp’s 44, Michael Schoenherr’s 48, Keegan Bruggeman’s 51 and Keaton Bruns’ 54.

Minster 158, St. Henry 170: Minster was paced in a winning effort by Grant Voisard’s 39, Grant Koenig’s 44, Joseph Magoto’s 38, Ethan Lehmkuhl’s 44, Jacob Wissman’s 39 and Logan Sharp’s 42. Magoto shot the day’s medal round. St. Henry was led by Reed Koesters’ 42, Andrew Mescher’s 44, Nate Niekamp’s 40, Sam Koesters’s 44, Ben Romer’s 51, Seth Heitkamp’s 54.

Monroe 159, Dixie 224: Alex Gomia shot the medal round with a 37; Weston Triplett shined with a 39. Monroe climbs to 11-1 with Monday’s win.

Parkway 195, New Knoxville 225: Trent Lehman shot a 51.

Girls Golf

Bethel 183, Anna 230: Kenna Gray shot the hot round for Bethel with a 44; Maddie McEldowney shot a 55 for Anna.

Coldwater 202, Marion Local 234: Coldwater won in league action, paced by Emma Eckstein’s 47, Sara Diller’s 50, Grace Buschur’s 52, Laney Finke’s 53, Lexi Wright’s 59 and Abby Ashbaugh’s 59.

Eaton 228, Valley View 299: Medal scores came from Eaton’s Kyla Mize and Carly Bricker, both shooting 52s.

Greenville 194, West Carrollton 207: Greenville’s top scorers were Kenna Jenkinson’s 38, Lainey Oswalt’s 51, Trinity Reis’ 52 and Riley Hunt’s 53. West Carrollton was paced by Allie Parker’s 4, Kierstan Steele’s 69 and Kylie Burr’s 74.

National Trail 178, Tri-Village 210: National Trail’s Makenna Jones shot a school record 34. Cait Gilland shot a personal best for the year, 47. Brooklyn Middleton shot a 56 and Avery Rutan shot 57.

St. Henry 186, Minster 222: Match medalist was St. Henry’s Ellen Neumann with a 39.

Xenia 162, Northmont 199: Xenia shot a school-record 162, led by Sam DeSpain’s 43, Carly Sherwood’s 49, Jamie Womack’s 52 and Priya Armour’s 55.

Boys Soccer

Bethel 8, Greeneview 0: Bethel ran out to an easy win ledby Aiden Flomerfelt’s goal and assist, Cole Brannan’s assist, Casey Keesee’s goal, Cannon Dakin’s goal, Nick Schmidt’s 3 goals and assist, Jaiden Hogge’s goal, Kyle Brueckeman’s assist and Jace Houck’s goal and assist. Bethel is now 4-2.

Dayton Christian 7, Franklin Monroe 0: Caleb McComas scored twice, Luke Reid, Luke Alexander, Ethan Orme, Jared Millhouse and Seth Culham all had solo goals for the Warriors.

Twin Valley South 1, Madison 0: Jake Sarver scored his first goal of the season, with help from an assist from Aaron Clark. Will Jerdon had 9 saves.

Girls Soccer

Carlisle 7, Trotwood-Madison 3: Kaylee Lawson had 4 goals and 2 assists for Carlisle; Rylie Cottrell added 2 goals and an assist and Carson Wahl added a goal too.

Girls Volleyball

Alter 3, Chaminade Julienne 1: Lindsey Rocco’s 28 assists and 8 digs led Alter to its second win of the season. Other critical factors in the win were Macy Adams’ 11 kills and 13 digs, Izzy Brose’s 8 kills and 4 aces and Lily Bradley’s 8 digs and 4 aces.

Bellbrook 3, Badin 0: Elana Heebsh had 7 kills and 11 digs; Emily Weslow had 5 kills and 10 assists.

Coldwater 3, Van Wert 0: Katie Alig had 7 aces and 7 kills; Lauren Gilliland managed 2 aces, 7 digs and a whopping 18 kills; Erin Kaiser had 7 digs; Annelise Harlamert had 20 assists; Kelsey Kahlig and Alaina Steinke had 7 kills.

Eaton 3, Clinton Massie 1: Molly Curry had 20 digs, Shaylen Perry had 16 kills, Libby Giffen had 8 kills and 12 digs, Olivia Baumann had 10 kills and 16 digs and Carsyn Lammers added 23 assists for undefeated Eaton.

Northmont 3, Piqua 0: Alexis Boykin had 8 kills and 6 blocks, Kayla Perry had 5 kills and 2 blocks, Katie Stewart had 18 assists and 3 aces, Lily Reidy had 6 kills and 4 aces and Daisy Sampson carved out 13 digs.
