HS Roundup 9/22: Packnett paces Dunbar football in win over Woodward

Greg Packnett passed for 145 yards and three touchdowns in helping spur Dunbar football to a 22-20 win versus Woodward at Welcome Stadium on Saturday night.

Packnett connected with James Murray and Bryce Smith on TD passes in the first half and hit Jaquan Lusbourgh with the go-ahead score early in the fourth quarter. Aaron Richardson tacked on the two-point run to put Dunbar up by eight.

Woodward pulled within two after a long TD pass but failed to convert on the two-point attempt after.

Boys Soccer

Alter 1, Bellbrook 0: Jackson Frericks punched in the lone goal to help Alter improve to 8-0-1.

Greeneview 7, Southeastern 0: Tyler Hurley and Austin Henderson each knocked in a pair of goals and keepers Hunter Anderson and Judson Dobney split on the shutout for Greeneview.

New Knoxville 3, Fort Jennings 2: Zach Davis, Jose Rabadan and Patrick Covert each drove in a goal for NK.

Troy 4, Bellefontaine 1: Drew Wrocklage scored Bellefontaine’s only goal.

Girls Soccer

Bellefontaine 4, Mechanicsburg 2: Grace Forrest scored both goals in a losing effort for ‘Burg.

Botkins 5, Lima Senior 0: Boston Paul dropped in a pair of first half goals and Lindsey Okuley tallied a goal and an assist for Botkins.

Fenwick 3, Chaminade Julienne 1: Mary Horvath, Megan Neff and Gigi Elter each put in a goal for Fenwick. Katie Baird netted the lone goal for CJ.

Greeneview 7, Southeastern 0: Kelsi Eakins knocked in two goals and Cassie Wheeler had a goal and two assists to pace Greeneview.

West Liberty-Salem 3, Col. Academy 0: Gabby Hollar had two goals, Emily Hollar drove in the third and Rachel McGill tallied eight saves in goal for WLS.

Girls Tennis

Tippecanoe 5, Sidney 0: Amelia Zweizig, Dakota Schroeder and Mira Patel picked up singles wins and Tippecanoe clinched a tie of the GWOC North title.

Girls Volleyball

Miamisburg 3, Spg. Shawnee 0: Paige Hines tallied 18 assists with 12 digs, Stacey Keating added 22 digs and Lexi Rang 12 kills with 12 digs for ‘Burg.

Minster Invitational: Minster defeated Botkins in two sets and West Liberty-Salem in three before falling to Marion Pleasant in the championship match.

Girls Golf

MAC Tournament: Taylor Homan of Minster earned medalist honors at 87, but St. Henry came away with the title. Ellen Naumann shot a 94 and Alana Siefring a 99 to lead the way.

Cross Country

Max Evan’s Ohio Caverns Invitational: Dylan Lauck finished first and Cade Clerico second to help spur the West Liberty-Salem boys to a win. Columbus Grove placed second, Bellefontaine third, Ben Logan fourth and Emmanuel Christian fifth. The WLS girls also won, placing seven runners in the top 20 led by Megan Adams.

Midwest Catholic Championships: Kevin Agnew placed fourth to help Carroll finish fifth overall in the Division I boys race. The Carroll girls placed third and Fenwick fifth in the D-II/III race.

Bellbrook Invitational: The Bellbrook boys placed four runners in the top ten to win the event, led by Max Bretland’s fifth-place finish. Colin Amato of Waynesville was first. The Bellbrook girls also finished first, with Addie Hahn placing fifth.

Tour De Sewer: Ben Hoover of Newton placed first and Brookville’s Justin Bland was second for the boys. Botkins won overall. Chloe Will won the girls race for Fort Recovery, with Versailles placing first overall.
