Soccer: Dayton Dynamo makes coaching change

The Dayton Dynamo and head coach David Wall have mutually agreed to part ways, the team announced this morning.

Wall has been with the organization since 2014. He was the head coach for the Cincinnati Saints in 2014-15 before assuming the same role when the organization moved to Dayton.

“Dave Wall has put his heart and soul into this club over the last three years,” Dynamo CEO David Satterwhite said. “It takes a strong individual to put the needs of the team before his own and he did just that over the weekend. We will be exploring the opportunity to potentially bring him back in a future front office role. I am excited to see what Dan Griest, a former player for the organization, will bring to the head coach role.”

Assistant coach Dan Griest will take over as the interim head coach through the end of the season. Griest was a standout at Northwestern High School in Springfield and also played at Wright State.

The Dynamo, 0-4 this season, host Kalamazoo FC at 7 p.m. Friday at Welcome Stadium.
