Streaking Miamisburg overwhelms Belmont in D-I sectional semi

Jason Hubbard struck for 18 first-half points and Miamisburg cruised to a decisive 71-59 defeat of Belmont in a boys high school basketball Division I sectional semifinal at Centerville on Wednesday night.

A No. 4 seed, Miamisburg (19-4) will take a 10-game win streak into Saturday’s 7 p.m. sectional final. The Vikings will play the Butler/Fairmont winner. Those teams play in Wednesday’s second game.

Hubbard, committed to Taylor (Ind.) University, led the Vikings with 30 points.

Belmont fell behind big early and never recovered. The Bison (15-7) had a three-game win streak snapped and were led by Jadon Furlow’s 22 points.
