The top 5 Bengals stories of 2015

It’s been a big year for the Cincinnati Bengals, making it into the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year and managing an 11-3 record.

 1. A.J. Hawk comes home to Bengals

Back in March, Cincinnati signed a Dayton native and Centerville High School graduate who spent his first nine NFL years with the Packers. Hawk got to return ‘home’ and became the third linebacker signed to the Bengals in less than a week.

 2. Devon Still, father of cancer patient, cut from the Bengals

In September, Devon Still, father of local celebrity and cancer patient Leah Still, was cut from the Bengals. Though the decision was controversial, the NFL agreed to pay for Leah’s health insurance for the next five years, per their policy.

 3. Naked Bengals in background of NFL network interview

Little was left to the imagination during an October interview of cornerback Adam Jones by the NFL network. Conducted in the locker room, several naked players could be seen walking around in the background. While not a lot of people caught the televised interview, it quickly made its way around the internet.

 4. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton fractures thumb in loss to Steelers

During one of only three losses so far this season, Andy Dalton fractured his right thumb and was benched indefinitely. While he has been sitting out on a game by game basis, backup quarterback AJ McCarron has had to step up.

 5. Bengals clinch playoff berth with 24-14 win

McCarron stepped up in a major way this past weekend, when he helped Cincinnati beat San Francisco and clinch their fifth straight playoff berth. They’ll take on the Broncos Monday to determine if they’ll earn a No. 2 seed.
