Ohio State limped into the 2014 Big Ten Championship game - literally. J.T. Barrett, who replaced starting quarterback and Wayne High School grad Braxton Miller in the offseason, broke his ankle against Michigan. This should have been Ohio State's ticket to the New Year's Eve bowl du jour. Instead third-stringer Cardale Jones led the Buckeyes to a 59-0 smashing of favorite Wisconsin, letting Ohio State slip into the playoffs against No. 1 Alabama. Forty-two of 43 of ESPN college football experts picked Alabama to beat up Ohio State - instead the Buckeyes traveled to the Sugar Bowl and SEC country, shocked the Tide and routed Oregon to win the first playoff and their first national title since 2002.
