Two Dayton players earn All-Atlantic 10 honors

Player of the year split for third time

Two Dayton Flyers earned all-conference honors Tuesday as the Atlantic 10 announced its annual awards.

Redshirt junior forward Josh Cunningham made the A-10 third team, and freshman point guard Jalen Crutcher made the all-rookie team.

Cunningham averages 15.5 points and 8.3 rebounds. He ranks second in the conference in field-goal percentage (64.6).

Crutcher averages 9.2 points and and leads A-10 freshmen with 4.3 assists.

Davidson’s Peyton Aldridge and St. Bonaventure’s Jaylen Adams were named co-players of the year. It’s the third time the A-10 has had co-players of the year and the first time since 2005.

Coach of the Year: Dan Hurley, Rhode Island

Second Team: Pipkins; Kellan Grady, Davidson; Otis Livingston II, George Mason; B.J. Johnson, La Salle; Luwane Pipkins, Massachusetts; and Shavar Newkirk, Saint Joseph's.

Third Team: Cunningham; Watanabe; E.C. Matthews, Rhode Island; Grant Golden, Richmond; and James Demery, Saint Joseph's.
