Oakwood junior Will Maxwell and Lakota West junior Nathan Dudukovich sat behind the Dayton Flyers bench during UD’s 75-54 victory against Duquesne on Wednesday at UD Arena.

Maxwell, a 6-foot-5 guard, leads the Southwestern Buckeye League in scoring (22.4 points per game) and shoots 42.2% (19 of 45) from 3-point range. He scored his 1,000th career point on Jan. 30.

Dayton assistant coach Darren Hertz watched Maxwell play on Tuesday.

Maxwell told NxtProHoops.com earlier this year he has had contact with coaches from Toledo, Ohio, Loyola Chicago and Miami University.

Dudukovich, a 6-3 guard, leads the Greater Miami Conference in scoring (25.4). He’s shooting 37.2 percent (42 of 113) from 3-point range. He hit the 1,000-point mark on Jan. 23. He set a school single-game record with 51 points on Dec. 28.

Dudukovich has taken unofficial visits to Wright State and Bellarmine in recent weeks.

Both players are members of the 2023 recruiting class. It’s too early to tell how many scholarships Dayton will have open in 2023.

If Elijah Weaver decides to return to Dayton for the 2022-23 season, that would be his fifth season in college basketball and final season of eligibility. Toumani Camara would be in his fourth season but could decide to play in the 2022-23 season because last season didn’t count against anyone’s eligibility.
