Urbana Hillclimbers football coach steps down

Urbana High School football coach Jon Daniels has resigned.

Daniels, a South High School graduate who played at Wittenberg, coached the Hillclimbers for two seasons. Urbana finished 2-8 in 2015 and 2-8 this fall. It won its first game this season against London and its last game against Graham and lost eight straight games in between.

Daniels followed Urbana grad Nick Marino, who coached the Hillclimbers for two seasons. Another Urbana grad, Geron Stokes, coached the team for four seasons before Marino. Urbana had five straight winning seasons until 2015.
