It didn’t result in a win, but Luis Castillo showed off his strikeout potential in Cincinnati’s 8-1 loss to the Braves on Sunday.

In four innings of work, Castillo set down eight Braves via strikeout. He held the team to two runs, but required 90 pitches.

For a Reds’ rotation that’s been a mess, Castillo has been a godsend. As the Reds search for building blocks, they appear to have found one in the 24-year-old.
