Perhaps no player in the Miami Valley has had their football stock rise as much this fall as Trice (6-0, 170).
Following a 42-35 come-from-behind win over arch rival Centerville, in which he rallied the Warriors from a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit and finished with 390 passing yards and four touchdowns, Trice talked on his current recruiting process.
“I’m just creating options,” Trice said. “Opening doors.”
Certainly.
Trice is already a highly sought after basketball recruit. He has offers from Toledo, Ohio, Kent State and Akron. Several Ivy League schools are also showing interest in the 3.9 student, as is Dayton. Trice will visit Butler soon.
Trice’s brother Travis is a point guard at Michigan State. His dad is Wayne’s head basketball coach.
Look for Trice to play AAU basketball this coming summer and attend football camps when he can.
Also look for him to eventually accept a basketball ride says one insider “unless it was a really good football offer.”
Trice is proving to be a really good football player. Keep close watch.
Rising Star: Looking for another name to know in the Class of 2015? How about Trent Yoemans.
The Piqua junior running back leads the GWOC in rushing (1,803, yards). He’s scored 22 touchdowns.
Yeomans (5-11, 183) has rushed for more than 200 yards in five straight games. A solid summer camp circuit could elevate his status immensely.
Big Offer: Thurgood Marshall senior athlete Landon Brazille (6-6, 230) has committed to Cincinnati. That didn't stop Purdue from offering the Cougars standout last week. The Boilermakers could be the first of several to try to entice the Bearcat commit elsewhere.
Ram Tough: Ross junior offensive lineman Simon Stepaniak (6-5, 272) picked up a new offer from Cincinnati last week. Stepaniak also holds offers from Indiana, Bowling Green, Toledo, Ohio and Miami.
