Carlisle 10, Dayton Christian 1: Starter Josh Tarter (6-1) struck out eight, Levi Boyer tripled and scored twice, Skyler Kelly was 3-for-3 with two RBI and Dan Wilcher went 3-for-5 with two RBI for host Carlisle (24-2) in this Division III sectional. Carlisle will play Badin Wednesday at Madison.
Triad 5, Northridge 2: Trent McIntyre went 2-for-4 and closed out the game on the mound for host Triad (24-4) in this D-III sectional. Triad advances to play Miami East on Wednesday at Urbana.
Versailles 7, Anna 0: Starter Kyle Niekamp struck out six in the complete-game shutout and Lee Ruhenkamp was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Versailles in this D-III sectional.
Southeastern 7, Xenia Christian 5: Visiting Southeastern broke a 5-5 tie with two runs in the top of the seventh in this D-IV sectional. Duncan Mercer and Zane Grove each had two RBIs. Southeastern advances to play Arcanum on Wednesday at Covington.
West Liberty-Salem 13, National Trail 8: Host WLS scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth for this Division III sectional win. Cole Wilson had three RBIs and Spencer Whitcraft, Kyle Crawford and Grant Burden each drove in two runs. WLS advances to play Versailles on Wednesday at Tippecanoe.
Tri-County North 10, Bradford 4: Starter Ryan Patrick (6-1) tossed a complete game and Austin Hutchins doubled, tripled, and homered to lead Tri-County North (20-9) in this D-IV sectional.
Cedarville 11, Tri-Village 7: Kyle Oldiges paced Cedarville (9-18), going 5-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Ryan Arnette went 3-for-4 with a double and picked up the win and Nick Arnette was 3-for-5 with two RBIs in this D-IV sectional. Cedarville advances to play Tri-County North on Wednesday at Covington.
Russia 2, Covington 1: Trevor Sherman singled to center to score Brad McMaken in the bottom of the eighth inning for the game-winner for Russia (20-7) in this D-IV sectional. Russia will play Fort Loramie in the sectional final.
Softball
Top-seeded Lebanon survived a scare from visiting Wayne and advanced with a 2-1 sectional softball win. Wayne tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the sixth on a passed ball. However, with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Lebanon’s Hannah Huffman doubled off the right field wall on an 0-2 pitch to score Kimmie Frank from second base for the go-ahead run.
Frank got the victory on the mound, striking out 11 batters and Sam Showalter recorded her 100th career hit in the game.
Lebanon faces Hamilton on Monday in the Division I sectional final at Centerville.
Northmont 9, Vandalia Butler 2: Northmont's Jordan Stoltz allowed only three hits in registering her 20th win of the season. Libby Pfeffer doubled and drove in four runs for the Northmont (21-3), which advances to play Edgewood on Monday at Fairmont in the D-I sectional final.
Springboro 4, Springfield 0: Amanda Thornton homered and drove in two runs to lead Springboro (18-5) to the sectional win. Lauren Powell improved to 14-2 on the mound and struck out eight in the shutout. Springboro will face Lakota West on Monday at West Carrollton for the D-I sectional title.
Centerville 3, Beavercreek 2: Centerville's Mollie Paulick put the Elks out in front 3-2 with a fifth inning RBI single that scored Alyssa Samborsky. Paulick did the rest of the damage on the mound, striking out five of the final six batters of the game to give Centerville (22-5) the sectional win. The Elks advance to the DI sectional final on Monday to play Lakota East at Miamisburg.
Edgewood 5, Sidney 0: Bree Williams tossed her fifth shutout of the season en route to a sectional win for Edgewood (21-4).
Carlisle 3, Preble Shawnee 2: Morgan Thomas had three hits and belted a solo home run in the third inning, which proved to be the game-winner as Carlisle (20-7) advances to play Badin on Monday at Monroe in the DIII sectional final.
Waynesville 3, Deer Park 1, 8 inn.: Waynesville's Abby Search homered in the sixth inning for the early lead, and she delivered again in extra innings with a two-run home run in the top of the eighth to upset third-seeded Deer Park. Carly Allen struck out 14 for her ninth win. The Spartans will play Madison at Carlisle in Monday's DIII sectional final.
Brookville 5, Anna 1: Kylie Mullennix struck out 13 and allowed no hits in the DIII sectional win for Brookville (18-6). The Blue Devils will face Arcanum, which upset Northeastern on Wednesday, in the sectional final at Northmont on Monday.
Versailles 12, WL-Salem 9: Versailles advances to play top-seeded Miami East in the sectional final on Monday at Brookville. Miami East defeated Milton-Union 3-1 on Wednesday.
