About Wright State: With his 110th win at Wright State on Tuesday, Scott Nagy moved into second on the school’s victory list in just five seasons plus one game. He’s one ahead of predecessor Billy Donlon, who coached six seasons. The all-time leader is Ralph Underhill with 356 in 18 years. … The Raiders squandered a 13-point first-half lead in an 80-64 home loss to Marshall last season. But they had just pulled out of the Illinois tournament because of COVID-19 issues and were gassed. They couldn’t stop Taevion Kinsey, who had 31 points while going 9 of 14 from the field and 13 of 15 on foul shots. “It was a new environment not playing with fans, and then coming out of quarantine and having not picked up a ball in four days to a week, it was definitely tough to get back into the swing of things — especially going against a pretty good team,” Holden said. “This year should be different. We’ve got the right guys to do it.”
About Marshall: Kinsey averaged a team-high 19.5 points last season and is a preseason All-Conference USA pick. He also led the Herd in rebounds (6.2), minutes (37.7) and field-goal (53.2%) and free-throw shooting (81.8). … The Herd return nine of their top 11 scorers from a 15-7 season in 2020-21.
