Wright State’s van der Keijl transfers to New Mexico

Richelle van der Keijl, the 6-foot-5 center of the Wright State women’s basketball team has transferred to the University of New Mexico to join former Raiders head coach Mike Bradbury, who took over the Lobos program in the end of March.

Van der Kiejil, a native of the Netherlands, graduated from WSU this spring with a degree in mass communications and will be able to play immediately for New Mexico as a graduate transfer.

She played three seasons at WSU and averaged 9.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game last season. Her 55 percent field goal accuracy led the Raiders and was third in the Horizon League.

“Richelle brings a high level of play to our program,” Bradbury said in a statement. “She has the size, she can score, and she can rebound. She will bring talent that will help continue to move our program forward.”

Bradbury also brought former Raiders assistant coach Valerie King along with him to New Mexico.
