Drivers Prepare Cars For Wintry Weather

Road crews have spent most of Tuesday treating area roadways, but you still need to watch out for icy spots and make sure your car is well-maintained for the bitter temperatures.

“You just got to make sure everything’s in tip-tip condition for sub-zero or there is a good chance of you blowing up something,” said Jeff Class from West Carrollton.

Among the things on your checklist should be fresh wiper blades, a well-charged battery and properly maintained fluid levels.

Authorities said whenever temperatures are below freezing, you need to be especially careful on bridges and overpasses. The cold air circulates around these surfaces and causes them to freeze faster than the rest of the roadway.
