The shower will peak this weekend, Dec. 13 through 14. You will still have the chance to see shooting stars before and after the peak since the shower stays active until Dec. 17.

In the Miami Valley, the best chance to view the shower might be around 2 a.m. Friday morning when we have a window of clear skies. The moon will be big and bright, but since this shower is known for very bright meteors, NASA says about 20-30 meteors per hour will be visible.
Clouds and showers will move in Friday night making the peak Saturday morning not an ideal set-up for stargazing.
The radiant point for this shower is the constellation Gemini. Look to the night sky ideally around 2 a.m. but anytime after 9 p.m. will give you an opportunity to see a shooting star.
