Power has been restored to all Miami County DP&L customers

Update@6:28 a.m.:

The power outage happened when a car struck a pole about 3:30 this morning, a DP&L spokesperson said.

Crews had to shut off power to customer in an effort to safely replace the pole, and power was restored to all customers about 5:30 a.m., the spokesperson said.

We’re working to get more details about the car crash.

Update@5:28 a.m.:

Power has been restored to all Miami County customers.

It’s not clear at this time what caused to outage, but we’ve reached out to DP&L for an explanation. We will inform you as soon as we get a response.

Update@4:30 a.m.: 

More than 600 customers are without power in the West Milton area of Miami County.

First report:

Power has been restored after storms that moved through the northern counties of the Miami Valley knocked out power to about 1,500 Dayton Power & Light customers.

The majority of the power outages were in the Sidney and De Graff areas after trees fell on power lines, Mary Ann Kabel, DP&L operations manager, said.
