Record-breaking weekend: Heavy rain and cool temperatures

Credit: DaytonDailyNews

The remnants of Gordon produced heavy rain across the Miami Valley. Most spots Friday through Sunday received anywhere from 3 to 7 inches of rain!

In Dayton, the airport received 2.7 inches of rain on Saturday. This smashed the old daily rainfall record of .92 inches from 2007. The clouds and rain helped to prevent a warm-up on Sunday too. The Dayton International Airport never climbed above 61 degrees, making it the coolest afternoon on that day since 1924.
