Scattered storms return to the region to start weekend

(UPDATE @ 1:03 a.m., Aug. 11): A Flood Advisory for Clinton County continues until 2 a.m. The Flash Flood Warning for central Greene County has expired, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

DETAILED FORECAST

OVERNIGHT: Expect passing showers and storms to slowly taper after 1 a.m., Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said. Clouds will break, with some patchy fog possible late. Temperatures to fall into the upper 60s.

SATURDAY:  A mix of sun and clouds is expected along with a chance for pop-up showers and storms. Better chances for rain will be along and south of Interstate 70 during the afternoon. Weather will cool slightly as temperatures fall into the lower 80s.

SUNDAY: Partly sunny skies will end the weekend with a slight chance of an afternoon shower or storm. Highs will be in the lower 80s.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny and comfortable with highs in the lower 80s. There is a slight chance for a isolated pop-up shower in the afternoon.

TUESDAY: More sunshine and a bit more humidity expected. Temperatures climb into the middle 80s.

WEDNESDAY: Scattered showers and storms will return, especially during the afternoon. Highs will hold in the middle 80s.
