Sunny and warm today; Chance for rain, storms Wednesday

Warmer than normal temperatures are expected through most of the week, with periods of showers and storms through at least the midweek. Cooler and drier conditions should return by the weekend.

Sunshine brightens up blue skies today with highs in the upper 70s, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Increasing clouds are expected overnight with temperatures falling into the mid-50s.

There’s a slight chance for a sprinkle or shower tonight, but most will remain dry tonight. Northern Kenutcky and southern Ohio are have a chance of some gusty winds with isolated storms between 4 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday will be cloudier but should remain dry with highs near 76 degrees.

Tuesday night will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with breezy conditions and a low of 62 degrees.

Showers are expected early Wednesday morning before rain chances decrease later in the morning and then increase again in the afternoon. There’s a potentional for strong to severe storms Wednesday afternoon and evening. More details about timing and potential threats should be available in the coming days.

Highs will be in the mid-70s Wednesday, while lows will fall around 53 degrees.

Thursday will be partly sunny with a brief chance of showers after 2 pm. The high will be near 71 degrees.

Thursday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 49 degrees. Rain showers are possible Thursday night as well.
