Unsettled weather for out-of-town guests this weekend

Welcome to the Miami Valley! We’ve been stuck in an active weather pattern for about a week and that will continue this weekend as well.

If you are visiting or just making plans this weekend, here’s what you need to know.

1. It will be warm! Saturday highs will be around 80 degrees and Sunday we climb to the lower 80s. Dew points also will climb, which means it will feel a little humid this weekend as well.

2. There will be storms to track. This weekend won't be completely dry, but there is a lot of dry time to enjoy! Saturday pop-up storms will be possible at any time but especially in the afternoon. The storms will be isolated in nature, so keep your eye to the sky because it might be sunny in one spot and stormy in another. Sunday most of the morning and afternoon looks dry. Some storms will develop again towards the evening hours.

3. Do you have allergies? The Miami Valley is known for being a struggle for allergy sufferers and this weekend there might not be much relief. We have noticed the tree pollen count has been dropping. This is a natural progression as we move through the middle of May. Grass pollen, though, is now picking up. The rain we see will help a little to keep the tree and grass pollen down. Watch the mold spores though, they can climb during a muggy and mild stretch.
