Web Your Way To Weather Facts, Data

Here are some local weather Web links of interest:

www.rapca.org This is the Web site of the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency. This agency issues an Air Pollution Advisory when pollution or ozone climbs to levels that can cause problems. When I show the Air Quality Numbers on the evening newscasts, this is my source. Not only can you keep tabs on pollution in the Dayton area by the hour, you can see which pollen and mold are the culprits.

www.miamiconservancy.org Some of us know about the Great Dayton Flood of 1913. More of us see a result of that flood when we drive through Dayton on Interstate 75. The Great Miami River looks the way it does to assure that flood will not happen again. Thank the Miami Conservancy District for that. On its Web site, you can read about the Great Flood of 1913, look at a map of trails that run along the rivers, or where you can put a boat into the rivers. It also maintains an extensive network of sensors across the Great Miami River watershed to monitor river levels, groundwater levels and rainfall amounts.

www.dnr.state.oh.us/fallcolor OK, so it's a little early to be talking about the fall colors. Bookmark this site, courtesy of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, now and browse when the colors start to change.

www.whiotv.com/weather Here you can check Live Doppler 7 Radar any time you want, get the 5-day forecast, and take a look at the Channgel 7 weather cams. There is also an archive of my past Dayton Daily News articles. Find the almanac section on the far right about two-thirds of the way down the page.
