Below normal temps forecast through first half of weekend

Temperatures will be below normal through the first half of the weekend before rising above normal early next week.

Today was much warmer, with the high temperature reaching 33 degrees in Dayton, 35 in Cincinnati and 32 in Columbus after below freezing temperatures and subzero wind chills at times during the earlier part of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The overnight low will be around 20 degrees.

Friday will be mostly cloudy and cold, with highs only reaching around 25 degrees.

Friday night will be mostly cloudy with skies gradually clearing. Overnight will be bitterly cold, with lows around 4 degrees and wind chills between 5 to 10 degrees below zero.

Temperatures will be below normal through the first half of the weekend before rising above normal early next week.

Saturday will be sunny with a high near 24 degrees, but subzero wind chills are forecast. Saturday ight will be partly cloudy with a low around 13 degrees.

Temperatures rise above freezing for Sunday, which will have a high near 35 degrees. Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 19 degrees.
