WPAFB Tuesday Weather: Warm, muggy with storms likely

A warm and muggy day is expected under partly cloudy skies.

“Pack an umbrella as there will be the threat for a few passing showers and storms, mainly between 2 and 7 p.m.,” Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.

There is a low risk that one or two strong storms could occur and may produce heavy rain and damaging wind gusts, Elwell said.

The threat for rain will decrease quickly after sunset.

High temperatures will top out in the upper 80s before storms arrive.

Cooler, less humid air will arrive late tonight into Wednesday with highs dropping into the lower 80s for midweek.

“However, don’t get too used to the comfortable air as the heat and humidity will quickly return before the weekend,” Elwell said.
