In place of the Holiday Tour of Homes, the OHDS is raising funds by selling the ornaments for $15 each, with all proceeds going directly to the OHDS. The OHDS is a non-profit run by neighborhood residents to “further instill a sense of community and camaraderie within the district.”

This year, you can hang a piece of Dayton on your Christmas tree.

The Oregon Historic District Society has created a limited-edition ornament available for all Daytonians to purchase this holiday season.

“Once again for the health and safety of our neighbors and our community, the annual Grand Holiday Tour of Homes in the Oregon Historic District has been canceled,” stated a release from the Oregon Historic District Society. “This holiday tradition is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Oregon Historic District Society (OHDS) non-profit organization.”

The cast pewter ornament depicts the iconic lion head etched into one of the main entrance columns of the historic residential neighborhood. Online ordering is available at oregondistrict.org/merchandise.

All orders are pick-up only and organizers encourage people to place orders ASAP. Orders must be picked up either Thurs. Dec. 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. or Sat. Dec. 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pick-ups will be at Deaf Monty’s Wine Bar at 22 Brown Street in the Oregon District.

“We are thankful for our community’s continued support, and we hope that you enjoy purchasing/displaying your own limited edition holiday ornament in your home soon,” stated the OHDS’s website.
