WINNER: Oberer’s Flowers
Did you know Oberer’s Flowers got its start in vegetables? Oberer's Flowers beginning goes back to the 1890s when Carl Oberer, an immigrant from Germany, bought a plot of land north of Dayton on Troy Pike and started growing vegetables. He grew lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and sold them at market in downtown Dayton. Along with the produce, the Oberer family also grew flowers that were also sold at market. Over time, flowers became the top-seller and the family shifted their focus to flowers. By 1922 Oberer's Truck garden came to an end and Oberer's Flowers was born. Today, Oberer's Flowers has grown beyond Dayton with locations in Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis and Louisville.

The Flowerman has a wide range of magnificent floral arrangements, fresh kitchen-table bouquets, and special occasion pieces available for purchase or to order in advance.
