Clifford submitted a letter of resignation last month to the position he has held since 1999. The board of education held a community forum Feb. 22.

That session focused on the board outlining its process to hire a successor. The board also gathered information on the characteristics those associated with the district - which includes parts of Miami Twp. and Moraine - want in the next superintendent.

Board members said they want to find a replacement for Clifford by early May and for that person to start work by Aug. 1.
