ATSG executive retires, to serve as adviser

WILMINGTON — Air Transport Services Group Inc., owner of cargo airlines and aircraft management and maintenance businesses, said Peter Fox has retired as its chief commercial officer, but will serve as an adviser throughout 2009.

Fox’s retirement took effect Tuesday, June 30.

Fox, 60, was president and chief executive officer of Cargo Holdings International Inc. when Air Transport Services Group acquired it in December 2007. His career in the air freight and logistics industry included leading Capital Cargo International Airlines Inc., a cargo carrier he founded in 1995, and founding Capital Management Corp., a developer of ramp-side cargo warehouses.

Air Transport Services Group’s subsidiaries include ABX Air, an airline which flies cargo for DHL, and Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services Inc., an aircraft maintenance operation which started operation in May at the DHL-owned Wilmington Air Park.
