Cincy brewery bringing its beers to Dayton

Rhinegeist Brewery in Cincinnati announced today that it is expanding distribution to include the Dayton-area market and will hold “launch parties” next week at three local pubs and at the Big Brews & Blues Festival.

Rhinegeist beers will be (and in some cases, already are) available in Dayton-area bars, restaurants, and retail locations, according to a brewery news release.

The brewery opened in June 2013 in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood near Findlay Market, in a 50,000-square-foot brewery building originally built as a brewery in 1895.

In January, Rhinegeist launched two of its brews in cans: Truth and Cougar. It will start offering its brew called Zen in cans this spring. The brewery self-distributes its beers.

The launch parties include:

• Company 7 BBQ, 1001 S. Main St., Englewood, a brew-crew event at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 12;

• Jimmie’s Ladder 11, 936 Brown St., Dayton, tap takeover at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 14;

• Archers Tavern, 9496 Dayton-Lebanon Pike (Ohio 48), Centerville, the official “Dayton Launch Party” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15;

• Big Brews & Blues Festival, Carillon Park, Dayton, 5 p.m. Friday, May 16.
