As this news outlet previously reported, the current Shook Construction headquarters building on Northcutt Place is on the market, and Moraine City Council recently approved a development agreement with Shook for relocation and improvement of the building at 2000 W. Dorothy.

The agreement, as outlined in council documents, would have the city “make annual rebate payments to Shook, reporting an aggregate payroll for a five-year period of at least … $4,000,000.00 for each of the five years.”
Mike Davis, Moraine development director, said Friday that while the agreement has been legislatively approved, relevant parties for both the city and Shook have not yet signed it.
A Shook spokeswoman confirmed the purchase, but she couldn’t say when the company might be moving or beginning its own renovation of the site.
Shook is one of the most important construction companies in the region, having had a role in many major Dayton-area construction projects over the decades, working either as general contractor or construction manager for Wright State University’s Erwin J. Nutter Center, Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Miami Valley Hospital South Bed Tower Addition, GE Aviation’s EPISCenter on the University of Dayton campus and much more.
Realtor Mark Fornes represented the seller in the transaction, and Fornes’ partner Jason Rudzinski represented Shook.
