Crown, Dematic teaming on R&D for warehouse market

NEW BREMEN — Forklift manufacturer Crown Equipment Corp. and Dematic Corp., a supplier of logistics systems for factories and warehouses, said they are jointly developing new products for the distribution market.

Their first product, called LaserTrucks, puts Dematic software and automated vehicle guidance technology on a Crown rider pallet truck, the companies said. The intent is to improve case-picking productivity in warehouses, the companies said.

Crown is based in New Bremen. Dematic, a global company, has its U.S. operations in Grand Rapids, Mich.
