Dayton organization offers course in starting up a business

DAYTON — The Community Action Partnership, a community service organization, is offering a 10-week training course for people who want to start their own businesses.

The next session of the Micro-Enterprise Business Development Program begins on March 24 and continues through May 26. The class meets once a week from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday nights at the Community Action Partnership’s office, 719 S. Main St. in Dayton.

The program fee ranges from $25 to $100, based on the participant’s income as assessed by federal poverty guidelines, spokesman John Bennett said Tuesday.

Bankers, accountants and lawyers teach managerial skills’ marketing concepts, preparation of business plans and other experiences needed to start and develop a business, program organizers said.
