Dayton Superior HQ building sold

DAYTON — The property housing the Dayton Superior Corp. headquarters has been sold to a new owner, but the construction products company isn’t moving.

The building at 1125 Byers Road, Miamisburg was sold from BW Partners to Fezco Superior LLC Feb. 15 for $6 million, according to the Montgomery County treasurer’s office.

An aide to Rick Zimmerman, Dayton Superior president and chief executive, said Friday the company leases space at the building and has no plans to move.

Dayton Superior emerged from bankruptcy in October 2009, becoming privately held, and moving to what was then a new 72,000-square-foot Byers Road headquarters. (The company had been based in Washington Twp. before the move.)

The Ohio secretary of state lists Frank “Pete” E. Zorniger III, former CEO of Dayton auto dealer Frank Z Chevrolet, as the incorporator of Cincinnati-based Fezco Superior. He could not be immediately reached for comment.

Frank Z merged with White-Allen Chevrolet in the spring of 2010. The University of Dayton is building student housing where the dealership used to be, in the 1600 block of Brown Street.
