The popular restaurant and gathering place founded in 1998 has been turning away customers on busy weekends and needed more space, Tieber said. Dublin Pub is a particularly busy destination on and around St. Patrick’s Day, when hundreds of patrons visit throughout the day.
Much of the material used in the renovation came from an abandoned Dayton church more than a century old. “All of the woodwork in here is 110 to 150 years old,” Tieber said.
The Dublin Pub added multiple craft-beer taps and now offers Jameson’s Irish Whiskey on tap, Tieber said. The pub owner has projected the cost of the project to be about $350,000. The pub will likely add up to 10 employees to accommodate the expansion, Tieber said.
Tieber is also in the early stages of building an Irish-themed bar and restaurant in the Austin Landing development in Miami Twp. The Oregon District location was named one of the top 10 Irish pubs in the nation by the “Tom Horan’s America’s Top Ten Club.” Dublin Pub was ranked 7th in the country and was the only bar-restaurant in Ohio to make the list, which is published by former restaurateur Tom Horan, who has authored dining guides for several Houston magazines and for the Houston Chronicle.
