New seafood shop coming to Moraine

A new seafood shop and carryout restaurant in Moraine will sell fresh fish at retail and and will also cook seafood, chicken and burgers for to-go orders.

Moraine Fish & Chicken, 4960 N. Springboro Drive (Ohio 741), is scheduled to open in three to four weeks, according to its owner, Farid Bargaoui. Renovations are underway at the shop now, including installation of fryers, hoods and a grill to accommodate to-go orders.

The shop will offer a variety of fresh fish for retail customers to cook at home. The carryout menu will include fried or grilled fish, chicken wings, chicken breasts, burgers, fries, hush puppies and other items.

Bargaoui, who is a manager and partner at a nearby Wing Zone chicken restaurant, said he saw a need for a fresh-fish shop in the area, especially one that prepares hot food for carryout south of Dayton.

“I like fish, and there’s just not much around here,” Bargaoui said.
