• 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, Jan. 24, “Meet, Greet and Sample” events will occur simultaneously at three separate venues: at Arrow Wine & Spirits Far Hills/Kettering location, at Arrow’s Washington Twp./Lyons Road location, and at the Liquor & Wine Warehouse off Miller Lane in Butler Twp.
• 7 p.m. tonight, Jan. 24, tap “takeovers” will occur at two local pubs: Chappy’s Tap Room & Grille in Moraine and Fox and Hound Bar & Grille in Beavercreek.
• From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, “Meet, Greet and Sample” events are scheduled for two Dorothy Lane Market locations, in Oakwood and in Washington Twp.
In addition, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight, Jan. 24, Miami Valley Wine & Spirits in Tipp City will host a tasting of Deschutes beers. No representatives of the brewery are scheduled to be there, but samples of all of the brewery’s beers will be available.
Initially, Deschutes will be offering its flagship Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Inversion IPA, and its spring seasonal, Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale. The beers will be available in six-packs and draft.
Last year, Deschutes Brewery — which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2013 — completed an expansion at its main facility in Bend, Oregon. The brewery soon will have the capacity to brew more than 460,000 barrels annually.
The beer will be distributed locally by Dayton-based Heidelberg Distributing Company.
