Gameday Grille sports bar opens

Owner: Warren County concern will be involved with communities.

CLEARCREEK TWP., Warren County — Gameday Grille and Patio opened Thursday at 7576 Ohio 48 just north of Ohio 73.

The location, which employs about 30, housed Kicker’s Sports Bar and Grille until that business closed in early January. The new sports bar was originally envisioned to be an Elsa’s Mexican Restaurant and Cantina, but “the lawyers couldn’t come to an agreement,” Gameday co-owner Todd Barrett of Washington Twp. said.

Barrett said the sports bar will get involved with surrounding communities, including Waynesville, Springboro and Centerville, and will support the area’s high school sports teams.

Barrett said Gameday is “a family-friendly sports bar.” Barrett and co-owner Tom Rentz, also of Washington Twp., have expanded and renovated the sports bar’s patio, part of which is covered and which seats about 100. Gameday Grille and Patio seats another 100 inside.

Gameday’s menu includes burgers, wings, salads and pizza. The bar offers eight beers on draft and 24 beers by the bottle. The business owners have installed 15 flat-screen televisions to gear up for football season.

The new sports bar’s hours are 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. Barrett said the sports bar will stay open late for events such as Monday Night Football.
