Grand opening set for new Washington Twp. yogurt shop

WASHINGTON TWP., Montgomery County — A new, independently owned frozen yogurt shop called T-Willy’s Frozen Yogurt Emporium has opened at 6085 Far Hills Ave. in the Washington Square shopping center, near the Boston Stoker coffee shop and across the parking lot from Dorothy Lane Market.

T-Willy’s will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting Sept. 29 that will include drawings for door prizes, games for children and other events, T-Willy’s owner Wendy Preiser of Washington Twp. said this morning. The store will be open its regular hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m, and the ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 10 a.m.

Preiser — who previously worked Sara Lee, Nestle and Birds Eye Foods — said she was looking to open a food-related business and liked the concept of a frozen-yogurt shop. The Washington Square location “seemed like a good place to put a yogurt shop that would appeal to foodies,” she said.

Preiser has developed toppings that she said are distinctive to T-Willy’s, such as homemade pie crust and Graham cracker crumb, a DLM Killer Brownie topping and several gluten-free options. A special “PMS Brownie” topping contains flaxseed oil, ginger and a pinch of cayenne pepper, Preiser said.

“I want people to have an adventure here,” she said.

T-Willy’s has 14 employees. The shop’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. For more information, call the yogurt shop at (937) 567-7818. The shop also has a Facebook page.
