Hidy may sell local car dealerships

The co-owner of the four Dayton-area Hidy auto dealerships said today that his family is considering selling those businesses.

“There’s been a lot of interest in the dealerships, and somebody got our attention,” Joe Hidy said.

Hidy declined to name any potential suitors, saying he is prohibited from doing so by confidentiality agreements.

“It’s way too premature for us to be talking about it, but I won’t deny that there’s something going on,” Hidy said.

Hidy operates Honda, Ford and Hyundai dealerships in Beavercreek, and an Acura dealership in Centerville.
