Kettering Health Network already has acquired several properties along that intersection and city officials previously said that the network may seek more land.

Kettering Health has not released specific plans since announcing in 2017 its intent to build a medical office in the city with physician practices and outpatient services.

City officials have since said the hospital network is working on plans and committed to the project.

The other land near the corner of East Dixie Drive, formerly home to Sonny’s Auto Spa, was transferred to the hospital network through a three-way deal with the city and the county landbank program. The Montgomery County Land Bank acquired the property from Sonny’s LLC in December 2016.

In recent years, Kettering Health Network has acquired a series of properties in other areas around the region. Plans have been announced for some, but not others. This includes a new medical center in Middletown, a new hospital in Troy, a new medical office in Centerville and a medical center under construction in Piqua.
