Kettering names new trauma medical director

Dr. Miguel Gaeta has been named trauma medical director at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, the health system announced today.

Gaeta, who most recently served as trauma medical director at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, joined the Kettering Acute Care Surgery trauma program in July 2016.

Gaeta earned his medical degree from the University of California in Los Angeles. He completed his general surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining Kettering Physician Network, Gaeta practiced at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for seven years as a partner in the division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, where he was a general surgeon and assistant in surgery. He served as trauma medical director at Elliot Hospital, a Level II trauma center and an affiliate community hospital of Massachusetts General Hospital. He also served as instructor of surgery for Harvard Medical School.

Kettering Health Network’s Greene Memorial Hospital, Soin Medical Center and Grandview Medical Center are verified Level III Trauma Centers.

Kettering Health Network is a not-for-profit network of eight hospitals, 10 emergency departments, and 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio. The network’s hospitals are Kettering, Grandview, Sycamore, Southview, Greene Memorial, Soin, Fort Hamilton, and Kettering Behavioral Medicine.
