Macy’s operates a customer-service center in Mason, Ohio, one of four such centers across the country. The company will hire 365 seasonal employees at the Mason center, Macy’s spokesman Jim Sluzewski said this morning.
Macy’s operates retail stores in the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek; the Dayton Mall in Miami Twp.; and the Upper Valley Mall in Springfield. Macy’s will hire 200 seaonal employees across those three Dayton-area stores, Sluzewski said.
The retail chain’s six Cincinnati-area stores include locations in the Tri-County Mall, Northgate Mall and Kenwood Towne Center. About 800 seasonal employees will be hired across the Cincinnati and northern Kentucky market, the Macy’s spokesman said.
“Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s are favorite places to shop throughout the holidays, and we strive to welcome and serve our customers with a consistently high level of care and attention, whether they are shopping in stores, online via desktop or on mobile devices,” Terry J. Lundgren, Macy’s, Inc. chairman and chief executive officer, said in a news release. “We first offer our current associates the opportunity to work extra hours over the holidays, then supplement our ongoing workforce with seasonal hires.”
Lundgren said the company employs “students working during break to help pay tuition, retirees seeking to remain active and individuals from many walks of life wanting to supplement their income.”
Applications for seasonal positions are being accepted at www.macysJOBS.com. Candidates who submit applications online will receive a response via email. Hiring for store sales positions will begin in mid-October. The company has already begun hiring for sales support positions, such as in distribution centers, call centers and store receiving.
Macy’s, Inc. employs about 172,500 associates on a year-round basis. The company has corporate offices in Cincinnati and New York.
