McGohan Brabender confirms leadership changes

KETTERING — McGohan Brabender recently named Scott McGohan as CEO and Mike Suttman as president, McGohan confirmed on Monday, Feb. 1.

McGohan, 45, a 22-year company employee, succeeds his father, Patrick “Pat” McGohan, who founded the namesake employee benefits brokerage agency in 1972. The elder McGohan and Tim Brabender, who joined the business in the 1980s and most recently was president, now serve as co-chairmen of the company.

McGohan Brabender and its two related businesses, McGohan Brabender Financial and MB Senior Solutions, employ 155 people in the Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus areas, including 131 people in Kettering.

The company has some 1,400 customers with a combined $495 million in premiums.

The biggest challenge facing McGohan Brabender is the uncertainty associated with the proposed federal health care overhaul, McGohan said.
