Miller-Valentine building Home Depot center

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Miller-Valentine Group says it has begun work on a 465,000-square-foot retail distribution center in an industrial park that will be used by home-improvement chain Home Depot.

Miller-Valentine is building the distribution center in the Lexington County Industrial Park, a development located on U.S. Route 321, near Interstates 26 and 77. The real estate company declined through a spokeswoman to give a price tag for the building.

Derek Mathis, an associate developer for Miller-Valentine, said the company broke ground on the project during the second week of June and will finish it in December.

The distribution center, which contains 18,000 square feet of office space, is expected to employ 300, Miller-Valentine said.
