New salon/spa opens at Dayton International Airport

The Whipp Appeal Express Salon and Spa has opened inside Dayton International Airport, offering a full range of services, including haircuts, skin and nail services, and massage to airport travelers and visitors.

The salon is located behind the security checkpoint on the airport’s lower level, next to The Great American Bagel. It is open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. This is the second location for the owners of the salon, Monica Mosley and Lenethia Durant, who also operate Whipp Appeal Hair Studio at 12 Macy St. in Harrison Twp.

Dayton city officials said in a release this morning that they’ve been working since 2011 to upgrade the airport and provide more concessions and amenities for travelers. These renovations have included new bathrooms, carpets, furniture, and new vendors such as Chick-Fil-A and a second Starbucks located on Concourse B.

“Whipp Appeal Express Salon and Spa is a welcome addition to the airport, providing travelers the opportunity to look and feel their best as they travel through Dayton,” Terrence Slaybaugh, the city’s director of aviation, said in a release.

The salon and spa services are open to airport travelers and to the public. For more information, contact the salon at (937) 454-1600.
