The 5,000-square-foot location at 2750 N. Fairfield Road in Beavercreek is currently buying inventory. Some of the most wanted items are designer handbags, dresses, shorts, sandals, athletic wear, jackets, plus sizes and jewelry.

This is the company’s first expansion into Dayton. There are Clothes Mentor stores in Cincinnati. Franchise owner Becky Finger also owns local Plato’s Closet and Once Upon a Child stores, said Stephanie Thornsburg, district manager of the Dayton, Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky stores.
“We already have our Once Upon a Child and Plato’s Closet stores up here that have done really well, and we know it’s an area that has a lot of great product available and we just though we could expand up here and kind of service our customers that have been driving down to Cincinnati kind of asking us for a location in Dayton,” Thornsburg said.
There are no firm plans in the work for any other Dayton locations, but the company is always looking to expand, Thornsburg said.
The first 25 people in line at the June 21 grand opening will get a $25 gift card and one person will win a $50 gift card every month for a year.

There will also be free coffee and donuts from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., door prices, snacks and beverages from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a free “little black bag” with any purchase. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
The store is open now to buy name-brand merchandise from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. If sellers accept a quote given while they are in the store, they will be paid cash immediately, Thornsburg said. After June 21 it will be open 9:30 a.m to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The store will employ 20 people and is still hiring about four more positions, she said.
