Long-awaited Ross Dress for Less gearing up to hire for local store

A soon-to-open Ross Dress for Less store is starting to come alive near the Mall at Fairfield Commons.

The discount retailer has been long awaited since the Dayton Daily News first reported it would open last fall.

The outside of the building at 2720 Towne Drive at the Shoppes of Beavercreek is complete with signage and work was happening inside the building Monday. There are signs posted on each side of the doors announcing the upcoming retailer.

A sign reading “Now Hiring” is also posted above the door, but no online job applications are available at this time. The Dayton Daily News will update this story when more details become available.

Ross Dress For Less has not responded to several attempts to learn when the store will open, but Beavercreek officials have said it is expected before the fall.

Another Ross Dress For Less store is opening in the third quarter at the Dayton Mall.

The discount retailer, similar to TJ Maxx, is the nation’s largest off-price retail chain. It has expanded rapidly, recently hiking its projections to open about 2,400 locations nationwide, up from its prior target of 2,000. The closest location currently is in Indianapolis.
