Ohio-built car among the “top American” models

The Honda Accord, assembled in Marysville, Ohio, has been listed as No. 2 on a list of the “most American cars.”

In assembling the list, the Cars.com website said it rated factors such as “sales, where the car’s parts come from and whether the car is assembled in the U.S.” The site did not count models with a domestic parts content rating below 75 percent, models built exclusively outside the United States or models soon to be discontinued without a U.S.-built successor.

Accords are also built in Lincoln, Ala., where Honda also builds the Odyssey mini-van.

Other than the Accord, the top American-made cars, according to cars.com, are:

• Toyota Camry, assembled in Georgetown, Ky. and Lafayette, Ind.

• Ford Escape, Kansas City, Mo.

• Ford Focus, Wayne, Mich.

• Chevrolet Malibu, Kansas City, Kan.

• Honda Odyssey, Lincoln, Ala.

• Dodge Ram 1500, Warren, Mich.

• Toyota Tundra, San Antonio, Texas,

• Jeep Wrangler, Toledo.

• Toyota Sienna, Princeton, Ind.

All Accords sold in the United States are assembled either in Ohio or Alabama.
