Old Delphi building getting new tenant

DAYTON — MedWork Occupational Health Care LLC has been signed as the planned first occupant of a vacant, former Delphi Corp. office building along Cincinnati Street off Interstate 75.

MedWork hopes to leave its current space at 725 S. Ludlow St. and occupy the first floor of the three-story former Delphi building on Aug. 17, company spokeswoman Jessica Brooks said Friday, July 10. MedWork provides drug screenings, work-related physical examinations, and treatments for injured workers under Ohio’s workers’ compensation program.

Industrial Realty Group LLC, a Los Angeles-based developer known for redeveloping old industrial sites, has bought 52.3 acres along Cincinnati Street. MedWork plans to buy the building’s first floor in an arrangement similar to a condominium owner buying the living space, Brooks said.

Industrial Realty Group has said its plans for the property include building a hotel, restaurants and a retail store, and demolishing an old manufacturing plant.

MedWork, a locally owned company, started 24 years ago in Miami Valley Hospital’s emergency room. MedWork has 43 employees.
